Every now and again, I escape from Mom and Dad and get a chance to update my blog. Usually it is while they think I'm asleep for the night but every once in a while, I get to write something when Grandad thinks I'm taking a nap during the day.

We took a family outing to the national zoo today. Besides mommy and daddy, Aunt Chrystie, Uncle Gordon, Cousin Storm, Aunt Elizabeth, Uncle Sean, and Cousin Kaitlyn all came along too. Whew, that's a lot of people!

Storm was very impressive with all the stuff he knew about the animals, I learned a lot from him. He must go to the zoo a lot to know what an emu is. None of my animal books have an emu in them.

My favorite part was seeing the elephants. They are mommy's favorite animal and they sure are big! I want to be an elephant when I grow up!

Mommy and Daddy got me an early birthday present. They say that because I'm almost one year old that I'm a big boy now and get my own table. It's really neat since I can sit and read my books now. Daddy picked it out because he thinks it is my favorite color, smurf blue. What's a smurf anyway?

I'm feeling much better and I'm soooo happy the sunshine has been out more lately. Mommy, Daddy, and I got to do a lot of fun things this weekend like visit the garden park they got married at. It was really pretty and I tried to eat dirt and chase all the ducks. Today I went to a church for the first time and my parents said I was well behaved through most of the service! I like that place a lot because they have a nursery where I get to meet other babies and lots of stuff to play on outside, too.
I have some big news...I am going to turn ONE year old next month! Mommy and Daddy are planning a special "Dragon Birthday" party for me on Sunday, May 20th since my middle name "Phi Long" means flying dragon. OH, and because my favorite book right now is all about dragons! Yeah, I know that I was born in the year of the Dog but I like dragons right now. Sorry Uncle Rick! Hope to see you at my party!!!

All I want for Easter are my two front teeth. Mommy and Daddy say I have a fever of 102 degrees. Daddy thinks it is because my two front teeth are coming in. All I know is that I am really hot and don't feel like doing anything. It really isn't very fun being sick although I get held a lot so that is nice. Grandad held me a lot on Friday which made me feel better but I still don't like being sick. I even threw up on Aunt Hollie (sorry!), Mommy, and Daddy today. Yuck.

So I haven't seen cousin Kaitlyn in a while but my great-aunts keep telling me we are a lot alike. What do you think?

One of my favorite things to do while Mommy or Daddy is cooking in the kitchen is to play with the magnets on the fridge. I keep getting told that I shouldn't try to eat the magnets, but they are so yummy I can't resist. I think eating magnets will make me even more attractive.....haha! Get it? I'm a ssssiiiillllllllllllllllyyyyyyy baby, I know.

I learned recently that Mommy likes to put me to work. I help her put clothes in and out of the big spinning machine she calls the washer. Although sometimes I get silly and I take things back out that should stay in. That Mommy....she'll learn child labor isn't the way to go. haha!

I saw snow for the first time!! Daddy brought some in the house for me and it was soooooooo cold. It made me laugh. I can't wait until I'm old enough to go make snowmen and snow angels!
